I know, complaining of a 29F morning may seem like a First World problem, but when it comes with an even colder wild chill, I balk. Yesterday and today I forgoed the morning walks with the dogs and waited for the afternoon. I will admit that walking the dogs after school is harder than walking with them early in the morning, as it's hard to get moving once I get home and want to relax.
Hansel is now maturing sexually. He is making the motions with Sadie, who is too weak to stand up to him, both literally and figuratively. It's time to make that appointment for his neutering. He is stronger and dense in weight while Gretel is small in comparison. She will always be a small GSD even as an adult, but she is also developing into a gentle and loving dog that is so wanting to please me. Her permanent place at night is on the bed by our feet, staying close to us but giving us space to sleep. Hansel sleeps on the floor with the pack, trying his share to lay his head on the soft new bed I got the dogs, but he does surprise us at the worst times when he jumps on the bed and lands on Kevin's privates, causing him pain. Hansel has no concept of his own strength and weight.
