Sheelite Canyon
I had forgotten how pretty this narrow and steep canyon is. Sadie and I went here for a short two-mile hike while volunteer lieutenants from Fort Huachuca helped cut down dead or menacing trees along the trail. Twelve volunteers showed up from the list of 22. They did a good job cleaning this trail. I didn't stay because of Katie's visit.
Brenda was the only club member who came to help with trail maintenance. Big Steve and Bernie were team members of the volunteers. Bernie was higher up the trail; never did hear his chain-saw.
I got to see Sheelite in its waning days of autumn color, regretting now never having hiked up this pretty canyon this fall.
